How do I change the name on a property’s title deed in SA?
You can apply to the Deeds Office to correct information on a title deed.
The requirements and process for this application are set out in Section 4(1)(b) of the Deeds Registries Act.
Information can usually be corrected within three weeks of the application date.
If planning to sell the property, incorrect information on the title deed has to be corrected before the property can be transferred to a new owner.
