When does the deeds office close over December?

The Deeds Office usually closes over the festive season. It was closed from 22 December 2023 until 2 January 2024 last year, and will presumably be closed over a similar period during the 2024/ 2025 holiday season.

In such a case, any registration that must occur before the end of the year must be lodged before 11 December.

The Title Deed records who owns a property and needs to be lodged at the Deeds Office after a property is transferred to the buyer. Deeds office fees are paid in the process.

The conveyancing attorney (hired by the seller) will register the deed during the transfer of property process.

The lodging of the title deed usually takes about 7 to 10 days.
